Rickon Stark is a character in George R.R. Martin's fantasy series "A Song of Ice and Fire" and its television adaptation "Game of Thrones". He is the youngest son of Eddard Stark, Lord of Winterfell, and Catelyn Stark. Rickon is described as impulsive and wild, often disregarding his own safety, and is fiercely loyal to his family.
In the TV series "Game of Thrones", Rickon is portrayed by actor Art Parkinson. He appears in the first season and is sent away to safety with his brother Bran after their father's execution. Rickon reappears in season three, having been taken captive by the House of Bolton. He is eventually betrayed and killed by the sadistic Ramsay Bolton in season six.
In the books, Rickon is introduced in the first novel, "A Game of Thrones", and has a larger role. After his father's execution, he is sent into hiding with his wildling protector, Osha, and his direwolf Shaggydog. Their whereabouts are unknown for several books until being rediscovered by his half-brother Jon Snow in "A Dance with Dragons". Their story arc is left open-ended as of the most recent published book, "A Dance with Dragons".
